Why be rude in a big flying tube!!

I just got back from a long weekend getaway and noticed a few things on my flights to and from. Why do people feel the need to be rude in a big flying tube. I have gotten over the fact that people are dumb where ever you go and lack respect for others in the human race. But...when you are confined to a flying tube 30,000 feet in the air we need to be on our best behavior. Here is my Top Ten "Bill's Guide to Flying".
10...Be patient! If the plane is delayed because they are changing a part, or de-icing the plane for safety. Be thankfull that you have a better shot making it in one piece at your final destination.
9...Follow the carry-on guidlines(they have the little metal box at the gate for a reason)
8....Watch your language and conversations. I don't have the cleanist mouth...but I don't scream the f' word out for over a hundred to hear and talk about all the women I have lined up at my destination.
7....Keep all body parts within your aisle. If, someone isn't sitting in front of you...please don't throw your leg up onto the seat armrest with your big stinky feet.
6...When the flight attendant tells you to turn off your electronics...just do it. It sucks when the pilots loose communication to the tower because some Paris Hilton wannabe is texting on her damn phone.
5...Listen to the flight attendant when he/she gives the safety instructions. I know you have better things to do like listen to your I-pod, talk loudly to others, crunch chips, and more. There will not be a crash course if we have the real thing.
4...Control your kids and control yourself while in flight. I can accept it when a baby cries, or child acts up for a few minutes. When it is the whole flight...your getting the dirty look! Some parents make the situation worse by acting out more than the child to get them to stop.
3...The seat only goes back so far. I know it's uncomfortable...I'm 6'4 and have to deal with the moron constantly in front of me jamming his seat into my knees so he can recline another 1/4 inch.
2....Please shower and/or bring some gum.(please don't make me elaborate on this)
1...Just be polite! Help other passengers if they need help, don't groan if they are moving a little slow, offer assistance handing stuff to/from the aisle if a passenger is in the middle/window seat, try not to be the first off the plane if your in row 23, and most of all know that you are not above anybody else sitting/working in the big flying tube.

Travel happy and safe...Talk to you in the morning!

A New Year

Well first Happy New Year!

It is my hope that 2008 will bring you everything you desire. New Years resolutions drive me bonkers. It should not take a New Year to loose a few pounds, look for a better job, be a better communicator, or whatever. We are blessed in so many ways with every day we have on this planet and we should make the most out of every one of them. Instead of New Years resolutions...let me share my short future goals!
1...to loose a few pounds
2...be more patient
3...make more time for myself and that will allow me to spend more quality time with others.

I look forward to another great year....cheers!
